Abstract:

To welcome the Tennessee Smokies back to Knoxville we planned an event that focused on creating an entertainment destination in Knoxville, promoting ticket sales, and fostering community involvement. Our event featured three main components, a party deck with Smokies players, hit and run the bases with the Smokies, and the raising of the Smokies 2023 championship banner. The party deck with the players was a ticketed portion of the event that featured food and drinks from local restaurants and provided guests with the opportunity to interact with players. The hit and run the bases with the Smokies portion of the event would allow individuals of all ages to get on the field and immerse themselves in the game. To conclude the event the Smokies 2023 Southern League Championship banner would be raised to incorporate the Smokies success at their new stadium and serve as a motivating factor for both players and fans. Overall, our goal when planning this event was to continually engage fans while also showcasing what the stadium and the surrounding area have to offer.
